About Mutual Aid
Mutual Aid means creating solidarity in our local community. It is a model where community members voluntarily exchange resources to meet shared needs. We operate on the principles of solidarity – not charity – addressing the specific needs of our unique local community, based on collaborative input from our neighbors. We strive to help fill the gaps where government assistance and other local efforts have left people without adequate resources to survive and thrive.
Meal Distribution
We distribute prepared meals to our neighbors in Lamy, Galisteo, Eldorado, and Santa Fe every week.
We also do our best to help with grocery list requests, and provide assistance with medical/prescription bills.
Please contact us if you would like to be added to our meal/grocery distribution list, or if you would like to donate meals or help with delivery.
Our Mission
Our primary mission is to create community solidarity, with an emphasis on providing support for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity, with no paperwork requirements, qualification requirements, or conditional restrictions including but not limited to sobriety or homelessness.
Our primary focus is sharing food, but we also support other mutual aid actions including the free exchange of clothing, pet supplies, and hygiene supplies.
We are committed to providing a judgement-free safe and anonymous resource for all neighbors, including our LGBTQ community and undocumented people.
Our Vision
We aspire to create an anonymous community where community members coordinate to support our neighbors facing food insecurity, homelessness, or medical challenges.
We believe that no one is "illegal" on stolen land, and that every human deserves the basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter, regardless of employment status, citizenship, native language, incarceration/felony history, race, gender, orientation, or ability.
